ITP Establishes Tempe, Az Office to Support
New Semiconductor Robotics Refurbishment Business Line

ITP opened an office in Tempe, Az. this month to more directly support Intel Corporation and ASM International, two primary customers for its new Semiconductor Robotics Refurbishment business line.  Overseen by Principal Partner Kirk L. Bolles, this initiative fills a critical niche manufacturing need in the semiconductor industry by offering major suppliers, such as Intel and ASM, the opportunity to refurbish legacy electromechanical tools used in the semiconductor manufacturing process.  Mr. Bolles previously had managed the maintenance of over $200M in semiconductor manufacturing equipment at Intel's Rio Rancho, NM plant. The new office, located at 2230 W. University Drive in Tempe, Az., will offer Class 1000 clean room capability, and is already engaged in refurbishing a number of tool sets for different semiconductor suppliers including Intel and ASM. ITP employees Mark Imhoff, V.P. for Manufacturing, and Rob Wilson, Sr. Refurbishment Engineer are staffing the office in Tempe. ITP is the preferred small business supplier for both Intel and ASM.  In conjunction with this effort, ITP is pursuing ISO 9000 certification status for this business line.

ITP Supports the Development of Research Infrastructure In New Mexico

ITP continued its support of the development of research infrastructure at New Mexico's universities this month by assisting in the development and presentation of materials for a special National Science Foundation (NSF) Reverse Site Visit review committee examining the Foundation's Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR). The briefing was held at NSF Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Accompanied by university officials and researchers, Principal Partner Jack Jekowski, co-chair of the New Mexico EPSCoR State Committee, presented to the review committee information on how the public and private sector in New Mexico have partnered to strengthen the investment in research infrastructure. A "Research Investment Landscape (updated 12/01/06)" graphic developed by Mr. Jekowski, drew significant interest from the committee and NSF program officials. Further information on the visit, as well as a pdf of the entire New Mexico delegation presentation can be found at the NM EPSCoR web site. Mr. Jekowski has been asked to be a guest speaker at the NSF annual EPSCoR conference to be held in Lexington, Ky on November 7-10, 2006.
