ITP Tracks Dramatic Changes During Obama Administration
ITP constantly monitors external events and policy driven by the U.S. and international community to help several clients better prepare for the future. During the past seven months, the Obama Administration has made a number of dramatic policy decisions with respect to national security, and specifically, the nuclear stockpile and posture of this nation. These decisions will have a profound and historic impact on the National Laboratories and the weapons production complex. During this period a number of external events, some driven by these policy decisions, have also occurred that contribute to the strategic landscape. To assist our clients in developing the strategic conversations necessary to prepare for a very different future, ITP created a visual timeline of the first six months Obama Administration that is provided in an 11x17 pdf file entitled “The Obama Administration National Security timeline.” Even more dramatic changes may be in store for the last half of 2009 and the first half of 2010, as the Administration influences the development of the Nuclear Posture and Quadrennial Defense Review, negotiates the follow-on START treaty, and prepares for the 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (the “NPT”).
