driver training programspractical application exercises

The ITP Drive Program is targeted to meet the real world demands of professionals who must drive and react to an emergency situation. This program will provide police, military, dignitary protection, or other security personnel with experience and responses that will save lives.

Our practical application exercises are designed to provide you with the techniques and confidence to react instantaneously should you find yourself in an emergency situation or come under attack while operating a motor vehicle.

The desired outcome is to “survive” the situation using any means available, whether the attack is an attempted carjacking, kidnapping, or terrorist attack. Our goal is to train the driver how to use his vehicle as a means of escape or as a weapon for survival. The driver will learn how to maneuver a vehicle through a series of practical application exercises, where each activity is designed to push the vehicle to a point just short of that specific vehicle's operating limitation or in some cases the operating limits of the student.

The key words in theses activities are “vehicle control” in times of stress, with the emphasis on being mentally prepared in order to automatically react to any emergency. It could be the big truck that suddenly stopped in front of you! How much time do you have? How much distance do you have? Can you avoid it?

Students will learn the “how and why of vehicle dynamics (physics)” as it applies to vehicle control or “why the vehicle does what it does when the steering wheel is turned”.This "real world application" training is realized through classroom and practical application exercises. Each activity is based on the laws of physics that can be applied to vehicle movement; speed, gravity, time and distance.
